Course of Study
Commitment to one weekend in-person & one Zoom night each month
- Practical Interactive Multifaith Studies
- Interspiritual Counseling Training
- Congregational Ministry Internship, including Worship Services Training
- Ordination as GOL Interspiritual Ministers
- Officiate at Services, Weddings, Funerals, etc.
Curriculum overlaps between three disciplines: Sacred Path Studies, Counseling, and Ministry.
- Interactive Interfaith & Interspiritual Studies 1½-2yr.
- Interspiritual Counseling 9 mos. study & practicum
- GOL Interspiritual Minister Ordination (Completion of both above programs plus additional 6 mos. internship)
- Retreats at the completion of the 1st and 2 ½ year marks (there will be a separate fee for this)
This adventure will take 2 ½ years to complete and will prepare you to be a leader in spiritual matters.
Classes meet in person one weekend a month and one weeknight on Zoom. Seminarians attend / participate in the weekly GOL service on Saturday morning and meet afterwards from 12-4 pm; then on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
The entire seminarian course of study and internship runs 30 months, leading to ordination and professional recognition as a NYS-registered minister.
Classes include lectures from Rev. JoAnn Barrett, GOL Founder, and other faith practitioners.
We will cover the history and core beliefs of many spiritual paths, delving into various sacred writings, while reflecting on your own responses, experiential learning and more.
Field trips, papers and homework will be assigned, and study group participation is required. All seminarians must meet with a private spiritual advisor of their choice monthly.

Here's what you'll need to do:
- Join/be an active member at Gathering of Light
- Complete online application (or call 631-455-3471)
- Submit a resume of work and educational history
- Submit a two-page summary of your spiritual journey outlined in application
- Provide two completed letters of reference; one personal and one professional
- Provide a recent passport type photo of yourself
Fees & Tuition:
- Submit $100 nonrefundable deposit fee
- Tuition Total: $7,200 in incremental payments

- Separate fees for books, retreats and graduation.
*Ministers receive up to $750 for a wedding ceremony. Do 10 ceremonies & gain interest on your personal investment!
